The Roborock Saros 10 (also known as the S9 MaxV Ultra) is one of the most advanced robot vacuums on the market. With its powerful suction and smart mopping system, it keeps your floors clean every day, but only if you maintain it properly. In this guide, we’ll show you step by step how to replace all the parts on your Saros 10 using the Plus.Parts® Maintenance Set. This way, you’ll get the most out of your robot and avoid unnecessary repairs.
Which models is this maintenance set compatible with?
The Plus.Parts® Maintenance Set is a proven alternative for Roborock part numbers 8.02.0403, 8020403 and HCTZ51RR, and fits the following models:
Please note: this set is not compatible with the Roborock Saros 10R. That model has a different mopping system with two round mop pads. Check the underside of your device, if you see round pads, you have a Saros 10R and need a different set.
What’s included in the Plus.Parts® Maintenance Set?
This complete maintenance set contains everything you need to get your Roborock Saros 10 running like new again, a total of 24 spare parts:
- 2 main brushes (1 set), the rubber rollers underneath your robot that lift up dirt
- 4 side brushes, the spinning arms that sweep debris from edges and corners inward
- 6 filters, trapping fine dust and ensuring clean exhaust air
- 4 dust bags, for the automatic emptying station
- 4 mop pads, the microfibre cloths that mop your floors
- 4 small side pads, extra pads for edge cleaning
When is it time to replace parts?
Good maintenance starts with knowing when to swap out parts. Here are the signs to look out for:
Main brushes, every 3 to 6 months. Replace them sooner if the rubber fins are worn or deformed, if hair is tangled around them and can’t be removed, or if you notice reduced suction despite a clean filter.
Side brushes, every 2 to 3 months. Are the bristles bent, thinned out or worn down? Then it’s time for new ones. You’ll notice edges and corners aren’t being cleaned as well.
Filters, every 2 to 3 months. A clogged filter reduces suction and can cause your robot to work harder than necessary, putting strain on the motor. Tap out your filter regularly, but replace it once it’s visibly grey or discoloured.
Dust bags, replace as soon as they’re full. Most users get 4 to 8 weeks out of a single bag, depending on how often the robot runs and the size of your home. Don’t wait until the bag is overflowing, as this affects suction power.
Mop pads, every 2 to 4 months with regular use. Replace them if they no longer absorb well, leave streaks, or start to fray.
Step by step: replacing all parts
Step 1: Replacing the main brushes
- Place your Roborock Saros 10 upside down on a soft surface.
- Open the brush cover on the underside by pressing the release latch.
- Pull out the old main brushes (the pair of rubber rollers).
- Remove any hair and debris from the brush housing using scissors or the included cleaning tool.
- Insert the two new main brushes from the set. Pay attention to the coloured ends, they indicate which brush goes on which side.
- Click the cover back into place until you hear it snap shut.
Step 2: Swapping the side brushes
- Turn your robot upside down.
- Remove the old side brush by gently pulling it straight up from the shaft.
- Press the new side brush onto the shaft until it sits firmly in place.
- Repeat if your robot has two side brushes.
Tip: keep your spare side brushes set aside so you can swap them halfway through the set without placing a new order.
Step 3: Replacing the filter
- Open the dustbin compartment on the top or rear of the robot (depending on your model).
- Remove the dustbin and pull out the old filter.
- Discard the old filter, as HEPA-style filters are not washable after extended use.
- Insert the new filter and push it firmly into place.
- Slide the dustbin back into the robot.
Step 4: Changing the dust bag in the docking station
- Open the lid of your automatic emptying station.
- Carefully pull the full dust bag out of the holder.
- Close the opening of the full bag (most bags have a slider or flap) before disposing of it.
- Insert a new dust bag by sliding it into the holder until it clicks into place.
- Close the lid of the station.
Step 5: Replacing mop pads and small side pads
- Remove the used mop pad from the underside of the robot. On the Saros 10, the mop pad is typically attached with Velcro, so gently peel it off.
- Attach a new mop pad by pressing it firmly onto the Velcro.
- Replace the small side pads in the same way if they are worn.
Tip: rinse new mop pads with lukewarm water before first use. This improves absorption straight away.
Maintenance schedule at a glance
| Part | Replacement interval | Quantity in set |
|---|---|---|
| Main brushes | 3–6 months | 2 (1 set) |
| Side brushes | 2–3 months | 4 |
| Filters | 2–3 months | 6 |
| Dust bags | 4–8 weeks | 4 |
| Mop pads | 2–4 months | 4 |
| Small side pads | 2–4 months | 4 |
With the 24 parts in this complete set, most households are covered for around 6 to 12 months, depending on how intensively you use your robot.
Extra maintenance tips for your Roborock Saros 10
Keep sensors clean. Wipe the cliff sensors on the underside and the LiDAR sensor on top monthly with a dry, soft cloth. Dirty sensors can cause your robot to get stuck or skip rooms.
Check the wheels. Manually spin the wheels from time to time and remove any hair or threads wrapped around them. This prevents wear and keeps navigation accurate.
Clean the emptying station. Occasionally blow out the air channels in the docking station with compressed air or a hairdryer on a cool setting. This prevents blockages.
Update the firmware. Regularly check the Roborock app for software updates. Updates often improve navigation and suction performance.
