That larger bin suits longer cleaning sessions without manual emptying, but it also means the motor pushes more air through the filtration system with each run. The HEPA filter at the exhaust captures 99.97% of particles at 0.3 microns, including fine dust and allergens. After months of regular use, the filter media accumulates enough fine particulate that airflow resistance increases and suction at the cleaning head drops noticeably. The filter is washable monthly, but it is not indefinitely effective: after a year of regular wash-and-dry cycles, the media begins to lose its original density, reducing filtration efficiency.

A fresh filter set restores airflow and filtration together. This pack contains three Plus.Parts® washable HEPA filters, dimensioned to fit the Dyson Outsize filter housing and matched to the airflow specification of the original Dyson filters.
