The Dyson SV55A is a further regional model on the V8 platform, sharing the matched filter pair, cyclone array, 115 AW suction output and up to 40-minute runtime common to all consumer-market V8 machines. The SV code reflects a market-specific retail or distribution designation rather than any platform-level difference; the pre-motor filter, post-motor HEPA filter, brush bar and bin mechanism are identical to those of every other V8-series model. Monthly cold-water washing of both filters, followed by a minimum 24-hour upright air-dry before reinsertion, is the baseline maintenance interval. Hair wrap at the motorised brush bar end caps should be cleared every one to two weeks; a stiff bar that cannot be spun freely by hand after clearing indicates the brush bar motor has sustained heat damage and the cleaner head requires replacement.
This kit is a Plus.Parts® alternative to the original Dyson parts /, supplying 2 matched pairs of washable HEPA filters (4 filters in total), a bin cover and quick-release buttons (small and large). The two filter pairs allow a continuous service rotation: one pair stays fitted while the other completes its 24-hour drying window, so the machine is never left out of use because of a wet filter. The bin cover replaces the release latch lid most susceptible to cracking; the quick-release buttons – supplied in both small and large sizes – restore the snap-fit required for accessories to seat securely. Wash only under cold running water, rubbing firmly until the water runs clear, then leave upright for the full 24-hour period. Never apply heat, detergent or a tumble dryer. Replace both filters after approximately 12 months, or when repeated washing can no longer restore visible whiteness to the filter medium.
