The four cliff sensors on the underside of the iRobot Roomba 505 keep it from mistaking your staircase for a cleaning route. A useful principle applies equally to the brushes and filter: degraded consumables don’t produce a gradual slowdown: they trigger a full stop. The 505 runs the same dual counter-rotating brush system as the rest of the 500-series: a bristle brush and a flexible beater brush that work against each other to agitate carpet pile and sweep debris into the intake. The yellow end-cap bearings, small plastic components at each brush end, are the most commonly overlooked part on the platform. Hair winds progressively into the bearing cavity until the brush cage can no longer spin freely, and the cleaning-head motor stalls under the load. Weekly inspection and clearing is the correct interval. The pleated filter must be tapped clean after each session; washing it collapses the pleats permanently and is not recoverable.
Having the full replacement set on hand means no consumable gets stretched past its interval while you wait for a part. This kit contains Plus.Parts® components as a direct-fit alternative to the original iRobot parts: a bristle brush, a flexible beater brush, a pleated fibre filter, a 3-arm side brush and yellow end-cap bearing components. All matched to the Roomba 505’s standard bin configuration.
Components selected for consistent performance across the full replacement interval. Reach the VacuumReviews.eu team with any question about your 505’s specific setup.
