Dyson SV20 – Plus.Parts® Replacement Filter Pack

The Dyson SV20 is a regional variant of the V12 Detect Slim, carrying the same 150 air-watt cyclone and piezo acoustic particle sensor found across the Detect Slim sub-range. The sensor classifies airborne particles by size in real time and displays a count on the LCD screen, allowing the machine to increase suction automatically when it detects a heavy floor load in Auto mode. This Auto mode performance depends directly on the filter staying clean: a filter carrying more than a month of compacted fine dust restricts the airflow past the sensor inlet, causing the sensor to undercount particles and hold suction lower than the floor actually requires. On the SV20, the LCD screen displays a dedicated filter wash alert when restricted airflow is detected, providing a prompt before the motor’s thermal protection mechanism begins pulsing. Responding at that stage keeps the machine performing at full capacity and avoids the follow-on disruption of motor pulsing during a cleaning session.

Washing the filter takes only a few minutes, but the 24-hour drying period it requires before reinstallation creates a practical gap. Dyson states explicitly that operating the SV20 with a damp filter causes damage. This set of three Plus.Parts® washable HEPA filters closes that gap: wash one, run the machine with a second while it dries, and keep a third in reserve. Each filter is a direct-fit replacement for the SV20’s twist-lock housing, matching the mount geometry and sealing surface of the original component.
