The Dyson SV49 is a model-code designation within Dyson’s V12 Detect Slim cordless vacuum platform, a lightweight stick vacuum built around the Hyperdymium motor running at 125,000 rpm and producing 150 AW of suction. The V12 Detect Slim platform uses whole-machine HEPA filtration, a design that seals the entire machine from intake to exhaust so that no air can leave without first passing through the HEPA filter at the machine’s exit point. The HEPA filter sits at the exhaust end of the airpath, downstream of the cyclone bin, and is engaged on every cleaning session. As fine particulate accumulates on the filter media between service intervals, resistance in the airpath increases and the suction the Hyperdymium motor can effectively deliver to the floor head falls. The washable HEPA filter is maintained by rinsing under cold tap water only, not warm water or detergent, and must air-dry completely for a minimum of 24 hours before the machine is used again.
This Plus.Parts® washable HEPA filter is a direct-fit replacement for the Dyson SV49. The filter is manufactured to the original SV49 HEPA filter’s dimensions and sealing geometry, fitting the machine’s filter housing at the exhaust point without modification or adjustment. Routine cold-water washing between service intervals and replacement at the recommended end-of-life point maintain the SV49’s whole-machine HEPA filtration system at the operating specification it was designed to deliver.
HEPA filter media matched to the Dyson SV49’s whole-machine filtration specification. Our team covers the full Dyson V-series range and is available for any compatibility or order question.
SV49: exhaust filtration sorted
- SV49 Direct-Fit – Each filter is dimensioned to the original SV49 HEPA filter housing and sealing geometry, fitting the machine exhaust slot without tools or adjustment.
- Whole-Machine HEPA Integrity – Replacing the filter on schedule keeps the V12 Detect Slim platform’s sealed airpath performing at its designed whole-machine HEPA specification across the machine’s service life.
- Cold-Water Washable – Rinse the SV49 HEPA filter under cold tap water only; hot water and cleaning products must be avoided to preserve filter media integrity between replacement intervals.
