iRobot Roomba Combo j7 – Plus.Parts® Maintenance Set

The iRobot Roomba Combo j7 is the entry model of the Roomba Combo j-line, pairing dual multi-surface rubber brushes with a pressure-applying mop arm at 10x Power-Lifting Suction relative to the Roomba 600 series. It ships with a charging base only, so the owner empties the bin and refills the mop tank manually after each run. All robot-side consumables are identical across every c-series and Combo j-series model, so the 18 parts in this set fit without modification.

This set supplies Plus.Parts® direct-fit alternatives to the original iRobot parts 4812261 / 4812262: two sets of dual rubber brushes, four high-efficiency filters, four side brushes, four mop pads and two dustbags – 18 parts in all. The charging-base configuration means the Combo j7 owner interacts with the robot more frequently than any higher dock tier, and the mop pad is where that manual discipline matters most. The pressure-applying mop arm pushes the pad against the floor with consistent force during every mopping pass, lifting fine dried residue off hard surfaces and directing it through the brush channel. A pad that is left attached to the arm after a session stays damp in the arm recess. Microfibre that remains damp continuously develops bacterial colonies in the pile within hours, producing a musty smell on the next run that the owner may attribute to the filter. The solution is a routine rather than a replacement: remove the pad immediately after every run, rinse under warm water, and hang it in open air to dry completely. Machine-wash weekly without fabric softener and never tumble dry. Replace the pad when the pile looks flattened under close inspection or when staining no longer washes out after a full cycle.

Tap the high-efficiency filter weekly and replace every two to three months. Clear both rubber brush end caps every two weeks: remove each roller, slide the orange end cap off and lift hair from the bearing boss. Replace the brush pair every eight to twelve months. Swap side brushes every four to six months – worn prongs leave a visible dust line along skirting boards. The dustbags in this set are ready if you add a Clean Base later.
