The iRobot Roomba Combo j9+ upgrades the Combo j-line with an auto-retracting mop arm that lifts fully clear of carpet on floor-type transitions and suction rated above the j7+ tier. The Auto-Fill Clean Base auto-empties the bin into a sealed dustbag and automatically refills the onboard mop tank from a dock reservoir, eliminating two manual tasks. This set covers the full service scope with Plus.Parts® direct-fit alternatives to the original iRobot parts 4812261 / 4812262: two sets of dual rubber brushes, four high-efficiency filters, four side brushes, four mop pads and two dustbags – 18 parts in all. The Auto-Fill dock reservoir is the service point that owners defer longest on the j9+, and the consequence appears as an odour problem rather than a performance problem. A sealed plastic reservoir receiving tap water on a regular refill cycle develops limescale deposits along the internal feed channel and biofilm on the reservoir walls within two to three weeks in warm ambient conditions. Once biofilm is established it transfers to the mop pad on the next automatic fill and produces a persistent damp smell that replacing the pad alone does not fully resolve. Drain the reservoir completely every one to two weeks, wipe the interior with a soft dry cloth, and refill with fresh water only. In hard-water areas, a monthly ten-minute soak with a diluted white vinegar solution followed by a clean-water rinse prevents scale from narrowing the feed channel.

The auto-retract arm limits incidental carpet contact during transitions, so mop pads on the j9+ tend to last toward the upper end of the service range. Replace pads when the pile flattens. Tap the high-efficiency filter weekly and replace every two to three months. Clear both rubber brush end caps every two weeks: remove each roller, slide the orange end cap off and lift hair from the bearing boss. Replace the brush pair every eight to twelve months. Swap side brushes every four to six months. Replace the dustbag every forty-five to sixty days.
