iRobot Roomba x0858 – Plus.Parts® Maintenance Set

The iRobot Roomba x0858 is the market-variant of the Roomba Combo 10 Max, sharing identical hardware, identical consumables and an identical maintenance routine in every respect. It pairs the j-line robot chassis with an AutoWash Dock that washes and hot-air dries the mop pad after each run, and includes SmartScrub back-and-forth mopping for heavily soiled areas. All 18 parts in this set fit the x0858 and every other c-series and Combo j-series model without modification.

This set supplies Plus.Parts® direct-fit alternatives to the original iRobot parts 4812261 / 4812262: two sets of dual rubber brushes, four high-efficiency filters, four side brushes, four mop pads and two dustbags – 18 parts in all. The AutoWash Dock dirty-water tank is the most time-sensitive service point on this model. After every pad wash cycle, the dirty-water tank holds the extracted floor grime, cleaning solution residue and loosened microfibre particles. Left unemptied for even twenty-four hours in warm conditions, the standing water develops a bacterial film that coats the tank interior and contaminates the wash system on the next cycle. The contamination transfers to the freshly washed pad, and the pad then deposits it back onto the floor on the next run – the very debris the dock was designed to remove. Empty the dirty-water tank after every wash cycle without exception, top up the clean-water tank at the same time, and wipe the interior of the dirty tank with a dry cloth weekly. On the Combo 10 Max and x0858, a partial blockage in the vacuum transfer channel can cause the wash cycle to fail simultaneously with the auto-empty, because both subsystems share the same airflow path through the dock base. If both functions degrade at the same time, the transfer channel is the first thing to inspect.

Tap the filter weekly and replace every two to three months. Clear both rubber brush end caps every two weeks. Replace brushes every eight to twelve months and side brushes every four to six months. SmartScrub mode accelerates mop pad wear, but the AutoWash hot-air drying extends pad life by eliminating damp storage. Replace pads when the pile flattens visibly.
