The Dyson V15 Detect Absolute includes the High Torque cleaner head, the Laser Slim Fluffy head, and the piezo particle-counting sensor that displays real-time floor-condition data on the LCD. The Hyperdymium motor delivers up to 230 AW, placing the V15 Detect Absolute squarely in the high-throughput tier where filter maintenance is most consequential: the sensor requires a specific minimum airflow to count and display particle levels accurately, and a partially loaded filter drops airflow below that threshold, causing the sensor to under-report what is on the floor. The filter – part – must be washed monthly under warm running water. This warm-water specification is unique to the V15 generation; every earlier Dyson cordless generation from V6 through V11 uses cold water, and warm water is not correct for those machines. After washing, the filter must air-dry upright for 24 hours before the machine is used again. Inspect the High Torque brush bar weekly for hair wrap; wipe the Laser Slim Fluffy lens monthly with a dry cloth only.
This kit is a Plus.Parts® alternative to the original Dyson part , delivering 2 washable HEPA filters, a dustbin lid, an upper bin seal ring with a Torx screwdriver, quick-release buttons (small and large) and a trigger lock. Holding two filters in rotation means the monthly wash cycle never requires the machine to sit idle: fit the dry filter while the washed one completes its 24-hour air-dry. The dustbin lid and upper bin seal ring address the two bin-assembly components that degrade earliest in a typical service life; the Torx screwdriver for the ring is in the kit. The trigger lock is useful for sustained use in Auto mode without constant grip on the trigger. Replace both filters once per year, or earlier if warm washing does not restore the medium to near-white after a thorough wash-and-shake.
