The iRobot Roomba 775 (PET) is the pet-designated variant of the mid-tier 700 platform. It is mechanically identical to the Roomba 774 but shipped with extra spare filters and a spare brush set in the box. It carries the 7-day scheduler, optical bin sensors, the Virtual Wall Lighthouse, and the 14.4 V NiMH battery. The consumable maintenance set fits every 700-series model without modification.
This set supplies Plus.Parts® direct-fit alternatives to the original iRobot parts: a set of main brushes, 3 side brushes, 6 HEPA-style filters and 2 cleaning tools – 13 parts in all. Six cliff sensor openings are positioned around the underside of the chassis. The 700 series runs on iAdapt reactive navigation without a persistent map, so a dusty cliff sensor produces an immediate hard stop rather than a reroute. iRobot specifies a weekly wipe of all six openings with a clean dry cloth, and melamine foam where residue has baked on. A cliff error on a surface the robot has crossed reliably before almost always traces back to settled dust on one of the six sensor windows. Dark-coloured carpets and deep-pile rugs can also trigger the same reading, but when a robot has cleaned a specific rug for weeks and suddenly starts avoiding its edge, sensor dust is the first cause to check. In a pet household, fine hair and dander settle into the cliff sensor openings faster than in a hair-free home, so the weekly wipe is essential. Combining the cliff sensor wipe with the optical bin sensor wipe and the side brush post check takes under two minutes and covers the three most common causes of mysterious behaviour changes on the mid-tier 700 platform.
Behind the set is a real team at VacuumReviews.eu, so if cliff errors persist after a thorough sensor wipe, contact us and we can help determine whether a specific floor contrast is triggering a false reading.
