Common problems and their maintenance causes

Suction noticeably weaker than it used to be

The HEPA filter is saturated. Remove it and inspect; if the medium has shifted from white to a consistent grey, replace it regardless of elapsed weeks. If the filter still looks clean, inspect the suction inlet at the top of the onboard dustbin for a caked-dust blockage and check the main brush chamber for debris packed behind the roll. First, the dock spray nozzles have partial mineral build-up and are delivering uneven water to the pad during the wash cycle; wipe the nozzles and, if scale is visible, descale with dilute citric acid. Second, the pad fibre has reached end-of-life and is redistributing residue rather than lifting it; replace the pad. Third, on the Dreame L10 Ultra, confirm the pad plate is fully latched to the mop arm; a partially seated plate contacts the floor unevenly and leaves a characteristic irregular streak pattern.

Dirty-water tank smells of stagnant water

The tank was not emptied on the two-to-three-day schedule. Empty it, rinse thoroughly under running water, and wipe the interior dry. If a faint smell persists after a fresh-water rinse, soak the tank in equal parts white vinegar and water for thirty minutes, rinse again, and allow it to air-dry completely before reinstalling. Never reinstall a wet tank; residual moisture promotes the same bacterial growth the rinse was meant to remove.

Auto-empty cycle fails or onboard dustbin remains full after docking

The dustbag has reached capacity, or the transfer chute between the robot’s dustbin and the dock is blocked by fine dust. Replace the bag first; this resolves the problem in most cases. If the cycle still fails with a fresh bag, wipe the docking port at the base of the robot and the port seal on the dock with a dry cloth. Robot detours around clear floor space or will not leave the dock

The lidar turret window or forward-facing camera has accumulated enough contamination to generate false obstacle readings. Wipe the rotating turret window with a dry microfibre cloth and the front camera window on the same pass. If the problem persists, inspect the cliff sensors on the underside of the chassis; a thin film of fine dust can blind these sensors and the robot interprets the blinded sensor as an edge it must avoid, producing erratic pathing or refusal to depart the dock.

Persistent damp smell from mop pads after the dock cycle completes

The pad has reached end-of-life and is retaining moisture even after the dock’s drying phase.
