Battery
The lithium-ion battery in all Narwal Freo models is not a user-serviceable consumable in the same sense as a filter or mop pad, but monitoring its condition is a legitimate part of long-term care. Expected battery service life across the Freo range is two to three years of daily use before capacity drops noticeably enough to reduce the cleaning area completed per charge. Keep the charging contacts on both the robot and the dock clean by wiping them with a dry cloth every four weeks; oxidised or dirty contacts interrupt the charge handshake and cause the robot to report charging errors even when seated correctly on the dock. The most reliable signal that battery replacement is due is a consistent reduction in cleaned area per session that persists after a filter clean, brush inspection and contact wipe, confirming that the limitation is in the cell rather than an easily serviced component.

Common problems and their maintenance causes
Suction noticeably weaker than usual
